Festive Mulled Wine Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Bottle Red Wine (Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 2 Cups Apple Cider
  • 1/2 Cup Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Sticks Cinnamon
  • 4 Star of Anise
  • 1 Tsp Cloves
  • 1 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Cup Brandy (can replace with bourbon)
  • 1 Cup Cranberries
  • 1 Orange, sliced
  • 1 Lemon, sliced
  • 1 Lime, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat the wine, cider and honey in a large sauce pan until simmering

  2. In a small sauce pan heat the cinnamon sticks, star of anise, cloves and nutmeg on medium for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally

  3. Add the spices into the wine mixture, add a few slices of citrus + cramberries and let simmer for 20 mins

  4. Pour into a heat safe cups, add brandy and slices of citrus. Enjoy!
