Autumn is my favorite time of year to get outside and embrace the season. After all that apple picking at the orchard (a fall time must!) you are probably trying to find creative ways to use all of them! Of course you can make (and freeze) apple pies galore but they can be messy and tedious to bake. Create a fast, easy and tasty dessert with these delicious baked stuffed apples that are perfect for fall! Check out the recipe below. Enjoy!
Delicious Baked Stuffed Apples
- 4 Large Apples Honey Crisp works best
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 Cup Crasins
- 1/3 Cup Dried Walnuts
- 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1/3 Cup Caramel Sauce Warm
- Vanilla Ice Cream For Topping
Preheat Oven to 375 Degrees
Cut off tops of apples (stem side) and scoop out 2/3 of innards with melon scooper.
Chop up the apple innards into small pieces and place in a small bowl.
Mix the cinnamon, brown sugar, crasins and chopped walnuts in with the apple bits.
Fill up each apple with the apple sugar mixture.
Place apples in a baking dish and fill with water until water is about 1/2 inch deep.
Place 1 Tbsp butter on top of each apple and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake in oven for 65-75 minutes or until tender.
Top with ice-cream, caramel sauce and serve warm.
