White Rabbit Gastropub in Downtown Frederick has been all over my social media feeds the past few months. I saw delicious brunch foods, stacked cheeseburgers, a unicorn Choco Taco and 40 (yes 40) craft beers on tap. With such a busy summer schedule, I have been dying to give White Rabbit a try for myself.
The Hubs and I headed to White Rabbit a few days ago for an early dinner and were so pumped. The interior design of this place is amazing. The downstairs boasts a large bar with an amazing copper penny wall with tons of beer taps in the shape of a ‘W’. The upstairs has a swanky speakeasy feel with deep red damask wall paper, ornate mirrors, chandeliers, and wooden details.
We started off with a few brews- Graft- Galactic Underworld (a dry hopped/tart/cider with honey & citrus), and a Ballasta Point – Tart Peach Kolsh before ordering a bunch of different food items to share.
Sweet Chili Chicken Wings– seriously sooo crispy and juicy. The sweet chili sauce is amazing.
Cheesesteak Empanadas– Shaved Steak, Vermont Cheddar, Caramelized Onions and Jalapeno Ranch. These were hearty and flavorful. You have to try them!
House Salad– This thing is huge and more than your average salad with fresh greens, bacon, avocado, cheddar, crouton and jalapeno ranch
Double Stack Burger– Served West Coast style with 2 thin Brisket/Chuck/Short Rib patties, a house made thousand island dressing, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato. Served with with hand cut fries.
We grabbed one more brew each- Evolution- Rise Up Coffee Stout and the Stone- Fruitallica– Double IPA w/ kiwi, yuzu and habanero.
I was dying for a unicorn choco taco- but was way too full. We can’t wait for our next visit and to see what other awesome beers and cuisine White Rabbit comes up with.
