Coffee is kind of my thing. The day just doesn’t really feel like it has started until I have had a cup of Jo.  

There is something so relaxing about sitting on my back patio in the morning and just having some time to myself.  I usually read a bit and of course drink  some coffee. I do not always put creamer in my coffee but love trying new flavors as a treat on the weekends to snazz up my cup.  I recently tried International Delight® Caramel Macchiato and fell in love.  It is like dessert in a cup.

I loved ice cream floats when I was young and with the temperatures rising soon, I was looking for a grown up version of the classic.  Using International Delight® creamer as inspiration, I decided why not make a coffee ice cream float!?

Just grab some cold brew and add a spoonful (or two.. or three 😉 ) of creamer ice cream (I made mine with International Delight® Hershey’s® Chocolate Chocolate) and you have yourself a very delicious treat! Drizzle caramel or chocolate syrup on top for an added bonus. You can make two versions of this creamer ice cream depending which creamer flavors you like.  These are the perfect way to cool down in the heat with something sweet!The Perfect Coffee Float - Recipes - @lacegraceblog1

The Perfect Coffee Float

Ingredients

  • 6 Large egg yolks- room temperature
  • 1/4 Cup sugar
  • 1 Cup heavy cream
  • 1 Cup of your favorite International Delight® flavor
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk egg yolks slightly

  2. In a small sauce pan head the milk, cream, creamer and sugar until sugar has dissolved and the milk is about to boil

  3. Take about 1/4 of a cup of the hot milk and whisk it slowly into the eggs to temper. 

  4. Repeat

  5. Pour egg mixture slowly into the milk mixture, whisking constantly until mixture thickens

  6. Let cool

  7. Cover and place in refrigerator for a few hours 

  8. Stir in vanilla extract

  9. Pour mixture into ice cream maker

  10. Once mixture has turned into ice cream remove and put in container.

  11. Place a spoonful (or two, or three) in a glass of iced coffee and enjoy!

Oh and if you are wondering where you can find the new International Delight® flavors- just head to the milk aisle at your local Walmart! They have a ton of flavors.
