Lots of great little things have been happening lately so I thought why not do a round up? Summer officially kicked off a few weeks ago and we’ve been taking full advantage.
Bonefish Grill released a delicious looking summer menu (check out some glimpses at past Fall & Spring Bonefish Grill menus) so we naturally had to try. As mentioned before, Bonefish Grill is one of the few chain restaurants I love and keeps me coming back again and again. We decided to sit outside on the patio and started off our meal with their famous Bang Bang Shrimp. I mean who can really get enough of that?!
For the main dish, we both fought over who would order the Kate’s Wild North Atlantic Haddock (Mildly sweet fish, garlic crumb dusted, wood-grilled, topped with feta, artichokes, lemon basil butter sauce, served on a bed of mashed potatoes) In the end the Hubs ordered the Haddock and I went with tried and true favorite- Wood Grilled Salmon with Jim Beam Bacon Butter (with a side of vinaigrette coleslaw and potatoes au gratin) The salmon was good but the haddock was seriously mouthwatering.
Instead of ordering another glass of wine for my second drink, I ordered the Strawberry Rosé Martini garnished the fresh berries- very refreshing and easy on the eyes.
For dessert we had to go with the Macadamia Nut flourless Brownie with fresh raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Huge thanks to Bonefish Grill & Tilson PR for treating us to a fabulous dinner! As always all opinions are my own. For the past month or so the we’ve (mainly the Hubs) been working on a fire pit area in a secluded spot on our property. It turned out better than expected so we had to have a bash to unveil it to all of our friends! I think our friends were pretty impressed and we all had a great time well into the night. I will be sharing photos and a full DIY recap on how to build your very own Pinterest worthy fire-pit next week on the blog.
Thanks to all our friends who came to celebrate! Cannot wait for more summer nights by the fire. I haven’t fished since I was a little girl. Wade is an avid fisherman and is always heading to the water for a day of fishing. We recently purchased a boat and that was enough for me to get a license and give it go. Although the 4:30am wake up call hurt a little, I was so excited. We drove to Clear Spring, MD to Blairs Valley Lake, about 45 minutes from our place and spent a lovely morning relaxing, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. The weather was perfect and the fish were biting all morning long. I cannot wait for our next trip back which is planned for tomorrow!
What do you have planned to take full advantage of Summer 2016? Some fun events I will be attending in the next 2 months include a fun Fire & Fizz event at Old Westminster Winery and the Taste of Linganore festival at Linganore Wine Cellars. I am super pumped to be headed to Charleston, SC for the 4th annual Blog Societies Conference in early August and a mini Ocean City, MD beach trip end of August. Jeesh the summer already seems like it is zooming by!
