I was blessed to have the best 3 college roommates in the world. Although we aren’t too far away from each other, we do not get together as frequently as we would like to. A few weeks back we were in a funk and decided a meet up was necessary. Allie couldn’t join us (being super awesome running in the Rock N’ Roll Nashville 1/2 Marathon) but Andrea of A.Viza Style and I drove down to Richmond to hang with Ashley. We had dinner at Fat Dragon (which was amazing) for our Friend Ryan’s Birthday, who was visiting from NYC, and stayed in catching up and watching ‘Dennis the Menace.’
We woke up bright and early to have a relaxing day at wineries in Charlottesville, VA. Although it was gloomy, we were excited to just sit back and chat with no agenda other than snacking and drinking fabulous wine. I had visited Charlottesville, VA previously for my great friend, Nikki’s Bachlorette Party and loved it. (recap here)
Our first stop was Jefferson Vineyards right down from Thomas Jefferson’s famous home of Monticellio. First things first- wine tasting. The main tasting room used to be an old horse stable and still has its rustic charm. We tried 10 different wines, my favorite hands down being the Meritage and the Rosé. We decided we would start with the Rosé and snagged a table on the patio. We sat, sipped and dived into our snacks. Before we knew it, over an hour had passed and we decided to not visit another winery and to keep the party going at Jefferson Vineyards. We bought a bottle of Meritage and relaxed some more. Before leaving we decided to frolic in the open grass area with a great view of the mountains. Great wine, great views and great company.
