There are few things in life that taste better together than wine and chocolate. One of my favorite wineries, Springfield Manor, hosted a chocolate and wine pairing over Valentine’s Day weekend which was a perfect excuse for some girl time with my friend, Amy. The tasting took place inside the winery’s beautiful barn. Each table already had pairings of five Springfield Manor wines and five Kilwins Gettysburg chocolate all set up and ready to go. We were first given a little lesson in chocolate 101 before the tasting began. Did you know white chocolate does not have any cocoa in it!?
Next it was time to taste test. Chocolates ranged from hazelnut and raspberry to dark chocolate (my fav!) which paired perfectly with corresponding dry and sweet wines. After the tasting, Amy and I decided to head downstairs and order some warm brie with chutney (amazing!), grab a glass of wine and catch up. I always love their Cabernet Franc!
A huge thank you to Springfield Manor Winery for hosting this fun event! I cannot wait for warmer weather to sit on the beautiful patio and gaze at the lavender fields!
