Roasthouse Pub’s Flying Dog + Otterbein Beer Dinner

Its no secret that the Hubs & I are big Roasthouse Pub fans. We just love the relaxed atmosphere, the delicious food and the best selection of craft brews around.  It seems about every quarter Roasthouse Pub throws  a special event which is usually in collaboration with Flying Dog Brewery and involves a mouthwatering menu. (recap of their Valentine Brunch here)   So when we were able to snag a spot at their Beer Dinner last Tuesday, I was pumped!

Not only was this a 4+ course dinner paired with Flying Dog Holiday Brews + Otterbein Cookies it also was a comedy show. I have never been to a comedy show and was pretty excited for Tommy Sinbazo & Rob Maher’s performances. Before each course was served, Head Chef Niko & Flying Dog Brwery’s Branden introduced each item. Niko provided details on his creations and how he was able to incorporate Flying Dog’s new Holiday Brews and Otterbein cookies into each dish. It was pretty impressive! Branden explained how each beer was brewed and the various ingredients used such as caramel and honey which screams the Holidays.

The menu looked something like this:

The welcome course was served family style. I could not get enough of the Grilled Buffalo Chicken & Spinach Dip, it was hard not to keep going back for another serving!

First  up was Tommy Sinbazo. As expected he was hilarious and said some of most off the wall things I have ever heard. I loved it.

For the second half of our meal, Rob Maher was on stage. He was equally as funny and it was almost impossible to swallow my food listening to him.

Before the meal began, Branden walked around and gave us some awesome Flying Dog SWAG. You can never had enough Flying Dog stuff! He also gave everyone a ticket for a drawing at the end of the night.  I have always had the worst luck and never seem to win anything. But low and behold my ticket was called first.  There were so many items to choose from, but I saw (and chose) this Flying Dog Flannel and knew it would be perfect for Wade. The next ticket called was Wade’s and he picked me out this Brew Process T-shirt that I adore.

Every course was scrumptious and paired perfectly with each FD beer. Niko truly knows how to make amazing food and he exudes that passion. We had such a great time and cannot wait for the next Roasthouse Pub event. Thank you Roasthouse Pub for having us!
