Friendsgiving 2015

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

This past Saturday was our 6th Annual Friendsgiving which included 22 great friends (+ 2 little ones). This was the first Friendsgiving in our new house and Wade and I were excited to entertain!

As hosts, we were in charge of the Meat. We ended up baking a 20 pound turkey (w/ a rosemary, thyme and sage butter rub) and a large ham (w/ citrus glaze); which meant I was able to play around with centerpiece ideas. I ultimately went with a mixture of various greens, (eucalyptus, palm & preserved moss, etc) and curly willow branches for height.  To bring in a festive harvest look, I added pheasant feathers, mini white pumpkins, lemons & oranges w/ whole cloves. I just loved how the centerpieces came together. Since space was limited at each table, I decided to place the utensils in customizable DIY napkin rings with each guest’s name. You can find the template to make your own, here.

Soon everyone arrived and the fun began. We had a roaring fire and appetizers spread around in the Family & Formal Living Rooms.  Every dish was delicious. I get more and more impressed by my friends’ cooking with each passing year.

After the blessing it was time to dig in! The rest of the night was filled with laughter and great conversation with some games of Cards Against Humanity & Heads Up thrown in. Thank you to all of our guests for helping to make this Friendsgiving the best one yet!  Z4bs6DKq4xtquK26bEl66LagJpe3_Hu5xXavig6e8IkI8bYr90ICep2u5xFc9oopZxumhqET8oYK1wWVTSHCHQO2Wz_D4qenzZzEWnTpkYnvr6TuWnveihXJDPzi5O144uRg6GLAsldUEiqhF4nbHQrM7ICNFjmEbCZokgez5v8U E5BjKXb4eBszHBK1w5R0aoyQBytVGHpg41ljOIQeBSU _Q942nkGUtUJjpZaz6UVo4OGN3QmmMc0L_W1kFlaQNI J6XlHhl6g1OLvbIosivfmU0spo-FeomgNyq-gGYO3DI fl0O6M_bTxdHnwlBjHw_3s5L7xuzb5wJL4yfJ7_o61kc6V9eOkCizrKr1JO3wa_vqcoPnSO6IS8N51hYrzCn6wr6h8DCI1WHxTzyUGB_T7QrxV9SsJr-IAuN7Xnv2xQ7sJTeoDzC1_OFrzHllvzjI6jzsBhf1KddBwESK2Haaogss3vgFkhL61lVx0_qQajoNSOJNXjCN5qetekEDAuKxA4
