Bonefish Grill- Frederick

Friday, October 9, 2015
Normally I stray away from chain restaurants; being turned off by the lack of personalization, crowds and usually subpar food. However, Bonefish Grill has been the exception to the rule for me ever since they opened their doors in Frederick. I still remember when my family decided to give Bonefish Grill a try for my Mother’s birthday a few years back and we ALL became addicted. So when I was invited to checkout their new remodel and delicious fall menu, my taste buds were already singing.
I loved the new look of the restaurant. It had a sleeker, more modern, almost industrial vibe to it. New chairs + tables completed the look, as well as some awesome pendant lanterns which really helped set the ambiance. My favorite new addition was the huge glimmering art deco fish on the wall.
Patrick was our server and told us about all of the delicious specials as well as introduced some of the new fall menu items. (the swordfish topped with feta, crisp onions and truffle butter  accompanied by pumpkin ravioli really caught my attention.)
One of the specials I was not aware of was the Hooked on Tuesday deals! You get a salad + select entree + dessert starting at $14.90. On top of that, you have the opportunity to add bang bang shrimp as an appetizer for only $6! What a deal! (check out the Hooked on Tuesday menu options here
We started off with two Dogtoberfest Brews from Flying Dog Brewery and some warm fresh made bread with olive oil & pesto.
Next came our appetizers.  Its not a complete meal at Bonefish without their famous Bang Bang Shrimp- crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy spicy sauce which I have tried to duplicate on many occasions. The sauce is so good we admittedly eat the lettuce garnish.
We also shared the Ahi Tuna Sashimi- Premium sushi grade, sesame-seared rare with wasabi + pickled ginger. Which is the freshest Ahi Tuna I think I have ever had.
Soon our salads arrived. The Hubs went with the Bonefish House Salad which has hearts of palm, kalamata olives, tomatoes, citrus herb vinaigrette
I went with a Classic Caesar Salad. (I am such a sucker for a Caesar Salad)
It was hard to believe we still had our entrees. We ordered another drink- Wade the Omission Pale Ale and I a Cabernet Sauvignon from Sycamore Lane
For the main event, I went outside my comfort zone of always ordering the Tilapia and went with the Atlantic Salmon. The entree came with spaghetti squash and my choice of side (I chose the Potatoes Au Gratin of course) I love all of the signature sauces and can never choose just one so I habitually ask for a little side of each. (high maintenance I know) I was so excited to see a new sauce-Lemon Tomato Garlic which is now officially my new favorite.  Other sauces included Lemon Butter, Mango Salsa (so good you can eat it by itself), Herb Pesto & Pan Asian.
Wade decided on the Snapper (which he let me have a bite of and I also loved) with a side of Spaghetti Squash and Potatoes Au Gratin.
We were completely stuffed to the gills and took a little break before dessert.

After a brief period of digestion, dessert arrived! We shared a pumpkin creme brûlée off of the new fall menu and the macadamia nut chocolate brownie complete with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce -oh.my.goodness! That brownie was out of this world.
What a great meal! Thank you so much Bonefish Grill for such a wonderful time with awesome service. We will see you soon!
