There is such a thing as a perfect wedding and I was lucky enough to attend one this past weekend. My dear friends, Nicole and Justin, tied the knot at one of the most beautiful & newest venues in the Frederick, MD area; Glen Ellen Farm. This place had truly had it all; “rustic elegance & and sophisticated charm.”
We were the first shuttle to arrive to the venue which allowed me to explore and snap some photos before the 200+ guests arrived. The grounds were magnificent with a beautiful lake, spring house, beach area and a picturesque scenery in the distance. But my favorite area was the barn ruins which was the perfect place for cocktail hour. (and also included a MASSIVE stone fire pit)
Soon the ceremony was ready to begin and just like that the skies opened up to sunshine. The bridesmaids wore lovely navy, long gowns; while the fellas wore studdly grey suits with navy ties (and suspenders!) Nicole’s dress was stunning and looked perfect on her. The ceremony was personal and filled with Scottish traditions from the Bride’s side of the family. They even had a bagpiper which is pretty much one of the most beautiful sounds in my book.
Cocktail hour was filled with catching up with friends and snacking on some yummy hors d’oeuvers. Dinner was catered by P.I.G.S which was amazing. (shout out to that mac & cheese!)
Everyone danced well into the night before the shuttles arrived to take us back to town. One the way back, Nicole’s relatives from Scotland sang which was lovely and so awesome to experience. Soon we were at Champions for the after party for more dancing and drinks. What an amazing time. Thank you so much to Justin and Nicole for letting us be apart of your special day! Everything. Was. Perfect!
