My parents and I were heading to Barboursville, VA a few Saturdays ago to celebrate my Mom’s 60th Birthday. With a 2 1/2 hour drive on the agenda, we took a pit stop in Somerset, VA for a visit to the Market at Grelen to break up the drive. We were all blown away at the beauty at Grelen which has everything from a full blown nursery, wedding/event venue and fruit orchards to an adorable gift shop.
As soon as we parked the car I went off on my own to explore. The huge event tent overlooking the orchards (with fire pits!) immediately caught my attention. I loved the hanging wrought iron chandeliers & bistro tables. Grelen also has a bridal suite and other various areas for entertaining, such as a greenhouse and adorable patio area for cocktail hour. For all you ladies out there looking for a wedding venue…definitely check out The Market at Grelen as an option!
I wondered around some more before finding my Dad who was on a mission to pick blackberries. He grabbed a basket from the berry picking shed and off we went. The black berries were so plentiful and delicious. Although our time was short at Grelen, we had a wonderful time and cannot wait to visit again! I hope you enjoy the snapshots of Grelen below.. and my Dad’s awesome Hawaiian shirt.
