Market Street Fusion

*** After posting this I was notified that Market Street Fusion closed its doors over the weekend for good. I am saddened to hear the news but wanted to keep this post live to document my wonderful experience at the restaurant.

Last spring I grabbed a quick bite with the girls at Market Street Fusion and was impressed by their Brew Burger and amazing signature cocktails (as mentioned here) So when David, Owner of MSF invited me back for a full dining experience I was totally there and beyond excited to try their revamped menu with the Hubs.

Dayton was our lovely waitress for the evening.  For an appetizer, we ordered the Caribbean Tuna Bites (huge slices of rare Ahi Tuna served with Cajun tartar sauce) which was a great choice. I decided to pair it with a new seasonal cocktail on the menu- the Blackstrap Cider which is made with blackstrap molasses, lime juice, seared cinnamon, ginger ale and Jack Daniels. Yet again, another amazing cocktail. Wade let me help choose his cocktail choice, one of my favs the Johnny Merlot (honey, lemon, Johnny Walker Red topped with merlot.)

For dinner, I ordered the Salmon Royale: Blackened salmon topped with crab imperial on a bed of Parmesan risotto w/ asparagus. You guys.. it was AMAZING. DELICIOUS. MOUTHWATERING! I cannot recommend the Salmon Royale enough. The Hubs ordered the Fusion Strip Steak which was peppercorn crusted and topped with a garlic truffle cream sauce accompanied by seared Shiitake mushrooms with a side of summer squash/zucchini. Once again- delicious! He barely let me have a taste and it was gone under 5 minutes. If you are a steak lover- definitely try the Fusion steak! Other items we contemplated were the Crabby Skins, Bourbon Scallops & the Jumbo Lump Blue Crab Cakes which I cannot wait to try. I was so happy to see the Brew Burger and the Crab Fondue made it to the new menu.

For dessert we ordered another drink- Me: my favorite cocktail of them all- the  Blackberry Rose which is so refreshing for summer. (blackberries lemon juice, grenadine & gin) the Boy: Kentucky Smash (Cherries & ginger muddles w/ bitters, lime juice and Knob Creek) Cheers!

We saw a musician come in with a guitar so we decided to move ourselves to the bar and stay a bit.  We were able to view first hand the process of making those delicious cocktails we had gulped down earlier and listen to some jams. We were able to chat with the awesome bartenders and David, the Owner for a bit before heading out. They all are so upbeat & fun which definitely helps create the wonderful atmosphere of Market Street Fusion! David told us about his plans for the future of MSF which includes possible expansion. We also learned that the restaurant hosts private events such as rehearsal dinners & bridal showers, which is rare to find in Downtown Frederick
