Its early in the morning, you wake up with all of your besties around you and realize that you are about to marry the man of your dreams. That feeling of butterflies, pure giddiness and being surrounded by some of the most cherished people in your life is one of the best. feelings. ever! It was a cherished memory I will always have from my own wedding; and this go around, as a bridesmaid it was just as special.
The night before Nikki & Dakotah’s wedding was so fun (rehearsal dinner recap here) but we made sure not to stay up and chat all night. The Bride needed her beauty sleep. Before we knew it, it was morning and time to pounce on Nikki with excitement. Soon the glam squad arrived to start hair and makeup. Mid morning we all shimmy-ed over to Mrs. Northern’s hotel room for a surprise Bridal Brunch. I have never seen such a beautiful get up in a hotel room before! Mrs. Northern had everything from make your own mimosas, parfaits, to beautiful depression glass dishware. She even made us the most adorable souvenir champagne glasses. (along with other adorable mementos) Thank you so much Mrs. (& Mr.) Northern!
Shortly after brunch we gave Nikki a surprise scrapbook which we all helped make. The scrapbook was full of memories from the course of our friendships and from all wedding festivities to date.
Next it was time to get in THE DRESS! Nikki wore a beautiful vintage long sleeve lace gown that her Grandmother and Mother both wore in their own weddings. Now it was Nikki’s turn and she looked like something out of a magazine. She carried a single peach rose. So. Classic.
As for the Bridesmaids, we all wore long black ballgowns of our own choosing. I loved being able to pick a dress I loved and would wear again. We carried a beautiful bouquet of peach roses and white hydrangeas.
Soon, it was time to hop in the limo and take pictures. (more about the wedding in another post!) The day went buy so quickly but man was it fun. Congrats to you Nikki and Dakotah! May you have a lifetime of happiness!
