Celebrating at JoJo’s Restaurant &Tap House

{JoJo’s Restaurant & Tap House} is quickly becoming my go to restaurant in downtown Frederick. I had an amazing dinner there with the Frederick Foodies a while back, which you can see {here} and a delicious brunch a few months back with my long time friend Sara C. {the Cajun Benedict is to die for}
It has been tradition for my cousin David and I to pick a downtown restaurant to visit for Frederick’s Restaurant week.{2013 recap here}. We checked out all the various menus and decided JoJo’s was perfect, so we made reservations for Thursday night.
Because of the expected snow storm, we decided to nix our Thursday night plans. Devastated and worried this weekend Jojo’s would be crowded this weekend and I would miss out, I begged my Husband to come with me after my final Master’s class ever last night.  He agreed so we turned it into a celebratory dinner πŸ™‚

 I quickly changed our reservation and off we went. For the first course I chose a deconstructed yellow fin tuna taco {Dorito powder, corn nut dust, tomato tempura, avocado, & cilantro lime sour cream} and Wade the bloody Mary shrimp escabeche {tomatoes, avocado, horseradish, jalapeno, cilantro and scallions}. My first plate was good but Wade’s was even more delicious! The taste of cilantro really brought in the feeling of summer I have been longing for.

We both ordered some brews to go along with our meal. I tried an orange chocolate Porter and Wade the Laughing Dog Imperial IPA. For the main course we couldn’t choose so we decided to split our entrees. I ordered the Gingered Salmon Gallette {with a sriracha honey butter, crispy potato sticks, julienned vegetables & wasabi mashed potatoes.} The mashed potatoes had a kick, but were delicious. Wade ordered the Surf N’ Turf Meatloaf {with  shrimp & crab stuffed meat w/ old bay cream, roasted red skin potatoes and sauteed veggies.  His was interesting but still good!

For dessert we both ordered  one of our favorite beers as of late, {Flying Dog Brewery’s} Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout!
