The Wedding Chronicles: Rehearsal/Rehearsal Dinner

I cannot believe our big day was 3 1/2 months ago. Looking back, not only was the big day amazing, the days leading up were just as spectacular!  Do not get me wrong, a lot of preparation went into the rehearsal and especially the rehearsal dinner, but the day was full of love and it was great to do some per-celebrating before the wedding.

The wedding party and close family involved in the wedding met at Trinity on Friday at 4. I remember being so excited that in 24 hours I would be marrying the man of my dreams and would be surrounded by all of our close friends and family. I felt like I was on cloud nine. Ashley, Wade and I showed up a bit early in order to set up some ceremony decorations (signs, hankies, programs, etc) My Mom and Dad helped us out by going to pick up some floral arrangements {done in old watering cans}from a local Hagerstown, MD florist {Ellen-joys Florist} to use at our reception. We LOVED our florist who did the rest of our wedding flowers, {Candlelight Floral Designs} however wanted to do something a little different and Ellen works with Trinity Lutheran and came highly recommended and had amazing prices.

I love maxi dresses and going with the tradition of wearing white to the rehearsal I went fancy and bought {this} Adrianna Papell Illusion neckline gown for the occasion.Who cares if I was over dressed. I loved it!

To start off we showed everyone around the church and specifically where everyone would be before the ceremony. Cha Cha {our flower dog}Pastor Greg had us all practice walking out first, then we walked in and did a dry run through the ceremony. I started to get nervous when our Pastor was going over our vows and various things we needed to do/say. I have always had a fear I would say “huh?” at the altar or something. Any who. We practiced some more and before you know it the rehearsal was done and off we were to {Brewer’s Alley}for a delicious meal.

Brewer’s Alley has two rooms upstairs to rent. Between the rooms is a bar, so your guests do not need to go all the way downstairs to the main area to get a beverage. The exposed brick walls and large wooden had me at hello! On the menu was a choice of fresh garden salad or Cesar salad. Potato crusted salmon, cherry glaze pork chops or chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides. I chose the salmon and LOVED it! I got a chance to try a bite of each entree and thought everything was delicious.

Before dessert, Wade and I played a little slideshow for everyone; of the typical pictures of us both growing up and then with us together. After the slideshow we had slices of keylime cheesecake and chocolate ganache cake to enjoy. Afterwards some of the maids and the boys went out for a drink.. me.. I was way too frantic in getting things done. I still needed to drop the flowers (which had been wilting in the car), arrange my bridesmaid’s gifts and simply decompress before the craziness began the next day! If you are having a wedding in the Frederick, MD area and need a place to hold your Rehearsal Dinner. Call Jackie at Brewer’s Alley! She made sure everything ran smoothly and was flexible with us!
