Christmas Season 2013

This Christmas season has been insanely busy, not that previous ones weren’t,  but this one in particular.  As many have pointed out it has probably been this way because we had one less week after Thanksgiving this year. I know that does not happen often, however I saw we petition it from ever happening again! {joke}It may also feel different because this is the first Christmas without my Pop Pop. He was always the life of the party and he is greatly missed- but especially during this time of year.

Because things have been so busy I have not really had much time to blog. But I hope in the new year that I will get back into the groove of everything.

Nonetheless I wanted to share what I have been doing recently and spread some Christmas Cheer!

To kick off the season I hosted our annual Girlsgiving function. It is one of my favorite traditions!

The 12th was my 25th birthday. To kick it off I headed to Starbucks for my first ever skinny peppermint mocha! It was life changing my friends!

My friend Natalie from work took me out to a place called Stone Cove in Herndon, VA and boy was it yummy. We had these amazing meatloaf cupcakes with horseradish mashed potatoes as an appetizer and I ordered a yummy flat bread.

When I go home Wade gave me the sweetest card {as he always does} and gave me my presents: An adorable bracelet with our soon to be wedding anniversary and a tea set for one I have been wanting! For dinner we headed to Bj’s Brewhouse which recently opened up in Frederick and has been all the rage. We got fried artichokes for an app and I a spicy burger for my

After dinner we headed to my parents’ house to say Hi and they gave me an awesome gift: a set of 10 circa 1920’s rose glass wine glasses.

That next weekend, my friend Casey hosted a joint birthday party for me and my friend Caitlin! It was so sweet of her and of course her and Caitlin made a ton of goodies to munch on!

Wade and I also took a stroll around downtown Frederick to look at all the pretty lights. Of course it was super warm but we still got coffee to be festive.
Wade and I also attempted to make his family’s famous sugar cookies! I think we succeeded! He won’t let me share the recipe.. sorry guys!

Of course we decked out the house this year again. We love sitting in the dark and having all the lights lit…

I also was a nerd and spent a few days listening to Christmas music and putting together a 1000 piece puzzle.

This morning Wade and I vegged on the couch, drank tons of coffee and watched Merry Christmas Charlie Brown- One of my favs!

For Christmas eve Wade and I are hosting some of our family for dinner. I loved some new festive entertaining pieces I picked up this year. On the menu- Glazed ham, rosemary + feta roasted potatoes and garlic asparagus.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and is able to spend time with friends and family!
See you in 2014!
