The Wedding Chronicles: Wedding Invitations!

So wedding invitations were something that was very hard for me to decide on. It was something that originally did not excite me as much as other aspects of the wedding and I kept going back and forth of when I wanted to take it on.
I spent countless hours on Pinterest pinning the perfect wedding invitations, ceremony programs and menu cards. Pinterest sets our expectations over the roof and gives us a false sense of what our weddings should look like. How does the saying go? There is my Pinterest wedding and then the wedding that I can actually afford.

I had high hopes for things such as gold foiling, fancy cut edges and embellishments but when reality set in this was something that no way shape or form could happen! Although I will cherish my invitation for years to come. {and hopefully put in a shadow box!} Others will simply throw away or forget about the.
I decided to try and start from a clean slate of expectations when I walked into the Organized Bride a few weekends ago with my Mother in Shab Row of Downtown Frederick. Tara {the owner} got me so excited on the phone prior to our consultation.

We walked into The Organized Bride in awe of all the beautiful invitations and stationary sets to choose from. Tara gave my Mom and I a few minutes to walk around and pick out the examples of what interested us which was very fun!

I found one design and I fell in love. They weren’t my colors but Tara said that was no problem! We then went over the different shapes, sizes and layouts that my favorite design could come in. It was a lot of fun and exciting to be a little creative with it. I want to keep some things a surprise but here are some items from the selection that I also loved! I cannot wait until after everyone receives their invite to share what we chose with you all!

We took a peek at my inspiration boards and talked about ways to incorporate more of my vision and style into the design she had. Tara needed to research a few things and we made another appointment to come back and see what she came up with. Here are some pictures from my wedding invitation inspiration board!

I brought Wade along for our next appointment, I thought he should probably consent on what I was signing up to.  He thought they were decent and actually gave some great input on the “personalization” and wording! It was surreal to actually pick the wording for the invitations! EKKKK! So excited!

We put down the deposit and I cannot wait for our mock up meeting where I can actually see different fonts and colors and choose the final product for production!
Thank you so much Tara for helping us find an awesome design for our wedding invitations! Check out The Organized Bride Website- {here} Follow on Facebook {here}  The Organized Bride is also on the FABNet Team!
