Norfolk Visit (with a little bit of Richmond thrown in)

A few weekends ago I decided to head down to Norfolk/VA beach area to visit my Big Sister Nikki at her new place! I had never been to VA beach but heard good things.  It was a pretty long drive down there so I decided to stay the night in Richmond with my Maid of Honor, Ashley to try to split up the driving a bit!
I met up at Ashley’s house after work and we caught up for a bit before getting ready to head out for some dinner! We went to this Mexican place called Plaza Aztec.  I got a burrito and a large margarita. It was darn good!
Afterward we headed to Ashley’s boyfriend Jim’s house to pregame.  Ashley and Jim are in a kickball league and they were having an end of season party that night.  At the party Ashley and I played the most magnificent games of beer pong. We were unstoppable.
Our friend Ryan called and convinced us to get a cab and meet him downtown.  We were a little under dressed for Kai, which was awesome.  We had a wonderful time taking fireball shots and dancing the night away.
Ashley, Ryan and I stumbled back to Ryan’s amazing new apartment to end the night.
We woke up super early and Ashley and I went to breakfast at this little grocery shop/cafe near her house.  I had an eggs Benedict on a muffin with some biscuits and gravy!  I said my goodbyes and I headed to Mallory’s apartment a few blocks away so we could ride to Norfolk together.
The traffic was INSANE so we decided to meet Nikki and her boyfriend Dakotah at the actual beach to save some time.
We ate lunch along the boardwalk at 11th Street Tap house which had $3.50 mimosas and make your own Bloody Mary bar! I had a steak and shrimp Chipotle wrap which was amazing.
After lunch we headed to the beach. Mal, Nikki and I put our toes in the sand. When we walked back to our spot the clouds opened up and it started to storm so we headed back to the car.
Little did we know that Nikki locked her keys in the car.  AAA wouldn’t be there for an hour so we headed to a bar back near the boardwalk for a beer.
When AAA arrived we had to run in the downpour to the car. I was smart and made a poncho out of a trash bag.
We went to Nikki’s house and relaxed a bit before getting ready for dinner in downtown Norfolk. We passed the time with Nikki telling the most horrifying stories from the ER. They were epic but not appropriate to share on the internet.. your stomach would thank me!
We went to this place called 456 Fish and man was it amazing! The girls had a St. Germain Cosmo.  I ordered the crab stuffed flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and it was phenomenal!

After dinner we walked off our meal to this awesome Irish Pub called Mo & O’Malley’s.  They had an entertainer on stage with a guitar singing old irish songs and had everyone up and doing old Irish singing games. It was awesome! Of course more fireball shots were taken!
The next morning we got up fairly early and headed to breakfast on the water right down the street from Nikki’s apartment at 757 Crave on the Harbor.  We had our coffees and I had a ham and crab eggs benedict with the most amazing home fries ever!
After breakfast Mal and I headed back to Richmond/to my car.  It was so nice to have a girls weekend with Mal and Nik and of course to see Nikki’s new home!
