The Wedding Chronicles: Florist Consultation

Wednesday, July 31, 2013
A few months ago I officially booked my florist, Candlelight Floral Designs.  I first heard about Candlelight through my amazing photographer Anna Kerns {Check out Anna’s website here}, and my friend from high school, Jordan Winn who has her own makeup company! {Check out Jordan’s website here}  They did an amazing bridal shoot last year and the bride had an amazing vintage/romantic bouquet.  I then met Melissa and her husband Chris at the FABNET wedding expo last November.  Chris and Melissa were so nice and the passion they have for the business really showed! Chris even gave my Mom tips on how to keep hydrangeas from wilting in the summer heat! {if we decided to do some DIY kind of things when it came to flowers for the wedding.}
Soon after the wedding expo I got in contact with Candlelight. Mid February my Mom, Wade and I headed to Myersville for our floral consultation.  I had a print out of a bunch of ideas I had as far as colors, types of flowers and how I wanted them arranged; which all in all fit Candlelight’s style.  I have yet to find another local florist who can do such a whimsical bouquet and flower arrangements like Candlelight.
Melissa asked us many important questions and really listened to our ideas! She sent over her proposal and we were able to cut back and adjust to fit our budget which is great.
So, what types of flowers am I going to have? Ladies and Gentlemen I introduce the peach garden/english/cabbage rose! Honestly this is what kick started my decision for my color scheme.  I am pretty obsessed with these roses! Add some white ranunculus, white football mums and dusty miller {the mint leafy stuff that kind of looks like lambs ear.. I love it!
We also talked centerpieces with mason jars filled with peach garden roses and white hydrangeas. As well as some other decor pieces to place around the barn, such as; mason jars w/ flowers on garden hooks around walkways.  Baby’s breath in my Mother’s antique watering cans and milk churners filled with tall leafy flowers.
I am so pumped I got another amazing vendor on my bridal team!
Check out some ideas that I brought along with me to my florist consultation below!
