The Wedding Chronicles: Harper’s Ferry Engagement Shoot Prep

Today Wade and I have our first engagement shoot in Harper’s Ferry with our amazing wedding photographer, Anna Kerns.  At first we thought about doing our shoot at Point of Rocks but had Harper’s Ferry in the back of our minds.  Anna suggested we do Harper’s Ferry but asked us to check it out.  I had not visited Harper’s Ferry since I was little and completely forgot how awesome it was.

When we arrived we were kind of clueless where to go. We drove around for a bit and eventually caved and headed to the visitor’s center for directions. There were issues with parking but we finally found a spot at the top of a hugggeeee hill. We had a nice walk down to the town and Wade and I were very impressed! It was so adorable!

We had such a great time exploring. Check out some of the shots:

After exploring we decided to try out a place for lunch. We ate outside on the back patio at Coach House Grill. Wade and I ordered a turkey panini with chipotle sauce, chips and homemade slaw.  We thought it was pretty good! We ordered some beers and finished them inside the bar since the wind started to pick up and we were freezing.
Outfit wise, I am wearing a long flow-y mint maxi dress from with brown booties.  Wade is wearing jeans and a causal white military style button up.

For the shoot, I decided to bite the bullet and get my nails and toes done. I seriously do not think I have gotten them done since senior prom! It was such a relaxing experience and V&A Nails on 7th Street did a great job!

As far as props for the shoot go, we knew we didn’t need much but wants some items to personalize the shoot.  Wade’s Mom gave us one of her Mother’s handmade quit for us to use, when Wade was grabbing his favorite fishing rod.  The pattern on the quilt is the double wedding ring- perfect! I also grabbed an old fishing basket, picnic basket {with accompanied cheese and crackers of course}, my all time favorite game -Mancala, and of course our lovely burlap pendant sign with our wedding date on it. {I am so excited to actually use it!}

It is such a beautiful day outside today and I could not be more excited to see the results! I will be sure to show you all soon!
