The Wedding Chronicles: Mathwig Spring Open House

I was so excited when we received an invite to an open house from 1-4pm on April 14th at the barn in our Mathwig Newsletter! Taylor was awesome and put together an open house to reveal all the renovations done over the winter.  Vendors, food and potential decor set ups for rent would also be there.
I brought my Mom and my good friend Casey to get in on the fun.
The first thing I saw was the HUGE new rot iron chandelier hanging in the center of the barn.  Taylor had told me she had surprises in store but the beautiful chandelier took the cake!
We walked inside and I was very impressed with the number of vendors.  We made our way around the barn and talked with some of the vendors.  I was blown away by the vintage rental shop and boutique display! They had the cutest decor!

Of course we took it upon ourselves to taste test everything.  The Carriage House Catering had yummy veggies, cheese, fruit and crap dip for us to munch on.  Taylor brought some sweets; I was in love with the macaroons!

By Design event planning had an awesome S’more set up and everything was available for wedding receptions.  From the toppings and food materials, marshmallow sticks and the marshmallow roasters for around $200.  Since Wade proposed while we were making S’mores I am highly considering this!

In one of the lofts I saw Ana at the Cakes by Diane stand.  They had a variety of cupcakes to taste test. I chose the carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese icing; my Mom grabbed a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter icing. Let me tell you.. We LOVED them! Considering we haven’t tackled the cake yet, this got me super excited.

We headed outside to check out the new bathrooms.  They added two more toilets and sinks which were still under construction but available for us to peak inside.

Taylor had a hay bale ceremony set up with cute quilts which all could be rented. If I were having my ceremony there I would definitely go that route!

 By the time we left the ‘parking lot’ was packed! I was so happy Casey was able to see the barn this time, for Mommy/Daughter time and of course to see it again! {I can’t get enough of it!} Thank you so much Taylor for putting this wonderful event on for us! It was fabulous!

 {Bye Bye Barn!}
On the way home we decided to check out Timeless Trends Boutique since we were so impressed with their display at the barn.. plus we each received $5 off coupons.  We spent some time exploring the store and the warehouse. {which is only open one weekend a month} What a cute shop!
